5G in India


 

5G hardwares are into market. Most of the phones are now having 5G compatibility. When it comes to 5G then network includes a Radio unit and some Data Units. One can control the data units directly from radio units. The towers are having these RU mounted which can be managed through a web platform. Major players in this field are Keysight, Solid, Comba, Wavelabs, Cirrus and more. Indigenous 5G enabled phone Optimus is in the market at cost of 20,000 . Other phones by major private players are also in the market like Samsung, Apple and more. Apart from better connection, 5G gives increased bandwidth boost when required eg. ambulance. Many companies have come out with 5G in India like Airtel, Jio, etc. Currently bands supported in India will be SA/NSA/Sub6 .SA stands for Stand Alone and companies like Ericsson are working on it to deliver high throughput and low latency.It has high utility in live streaming as well. Metaverse will need 5G as data to be transferred will be huge in datasize. Connected cars and other vehicles will be a reality now.It will include high resolution videos and photos for immersive experience. At every 150 meters we will see the radio units just like our DTH satellites.High frequency waves will give us high signal strength in every nook and corner of world. Speed of 10 Mbps will be a reality. Machines will make a strong IOT network. IIOT will flourish. Those of yout who don’t know IIOT is Industry 4.0 being run by small self capable devices. Walking about environmental impacts it is yet to be seen , however there are no serious alarms till now. There may be an effect on wildlife and aviary animals. Till now we have seen a sharp decline in number of small sparrows, only pigeons seem to have survived by adapting. Will we see them just in books is an emerging question?All the devices getting smarter may make humans lazy and aloof. There is a fear of investment in infrastructure. Hence, shared 5G is coming to place where same network will be shared by private players as done currently by Airtel and Jio in 4G. Spectrum will also be distributed amongst private players. Jio and Airtel plan to extend 5G to whole of india in next 10-12 months after the budget. Jio has extended its true 5G services to 225 cities. Upskilling of talent is also required. 5G labs will by set up by public partnership to promote research in the former technology. The indian government has announced setting up 100 such labs . IIT Kharagpur launches an online course to learn 5G.5G phones lead overall shipments in 2022, The shipments increased by 74% . Even though the overall mobile market declined, reports the Press Trust of India, citing data by CMR. Smartphones worth $20 billion where shipped in 2022 with Xiaomi, Samsung and Vivo leading the way, followed by Realme and Oppo, Cyber Media Research(CMR) says.
